It refers to persistent, harmful and targeted behaviours that are directed towards one employee or a group of employees. These behaviours can take various forms including verbal abuse, humiliation, intimidation and sabotage. It goes beyond occasional conflicts or disagreements as bullying involves a pattern of behaviour aimed at exerting power and control over others.
